Most homepages are a collection of everything the owner finds important. A good homepage is the opposite: only what the visitor needs to decide, in the order they need it.
1. The one sentence
At the top, big: what you do, for whom, and what it brings. "Websites that sell themselves." "A table by the window tonight?" "Stronger in six weeks." No welcome, no "we are a dynamic company". The visitor has to know within three seconds whether they are in the right place.
2. Proof
Right after that: why should I believe you. Photos of real work, a number that is true, a review with a name. One good proof beats ten claims.
3. What you offer
Short and concrete. Three services, three packages, three kinds of customers. More can always go on a separate page. On the homepage someone wants to choose, not read.
4. What it costs
Put prices on your site, even if it is "from". Visitors who find no price assume it is expensive and leave. A price also filters: the people who call can afford it.
5. The button
One clear next step, always in view: book, make an appointment, request a quote, start. Not five buttons; one.
What can go
- The welcome text. Nobody reads "Welcome to our website".
- The slideshow with five messages. Five messages is zero messages.
- The news block that has not been updated since 2023. That says more than you think.
